Named after Judith Wright, the celebrated Australian poet and activist, the Judith Wright Arts Centre (JWAC) is a vibrant and contemporary visual and performing arts hub, located in the heart of Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley.

Home to some of Queensland’s and Australia’s most dynamic arts organisations, JWAC is a creative space for exciting visual arts programming and for the development and presentation of original and innovative contemporary performance works, including cabaret, circus, dance, music, spoken word and multi-disciplinary arts.

JWAC tenants include the Aboriginal Centre for the Performing Arts, arTour, AusDance Queensland, BlakDance, Circa, Creative Partnerships Australia, Australasian Dance Collective, Flying Arts Alliance, Institute of Modern Art (IMA), Musica Viva, and Carbon Creative.

Opened in 2001, JWAC is owned and operated by the Queensland Government and managed by Arts Queensland.
