Empire Theatres

  • Empire Theatre - front med resIMPACT Ensembles: Since 2011, the Empire Youth Arts IMPACT Ensemble has operated as an elite performance program for young artists aged 13-20. The IMPACT Ensemble aims to offer young people professional performance experiences, whilst making an impact on audiences. The 2017 Senior IMPACT Ensemble worked from William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream to create an original performance work titled {Cross My Heart}. Read full details. The 2017 Junior IMPACT Ensemble presented Child(ish) which tells the story of seven young people who decide that the best solution to their problems is to run away. Read full details.
  • Empire Theatres Open Day – Celebrating 20 Years: In 2017, the Empire Theatre opened its doors to the public to celebrate 20 years since opening. Read full details.
  • Partnering with Mercy Community Services to present "The Arrival": The Empire Theatres partnered with Mercy Community Services to present the Spare Parts Puppet Theatre adaptation of Shaun Tan’s book The Arrival in October 2017. As many new refugee and migrant arrivals settle in Toowoomba, the choice of this show was designed to appeal to this audience. Read full details.
