On July 15 and 16, the 2018 Helpmann Award winners were announced at ceremonies held at Sydney Town Hall and Sydney’s Capitol Theatre.

Live Performance Australia received over 730 entries for the nation’s Live Performance Awards, with 176 Nominations announced and 43 winners confirmed.

Stage Queensland congratulates all the winners and nominees particularly the nominations involving QPAC and La Boite who are Stage Queensland member-venues. Details of these nominations are below:

Best Ballet

  • The Royal Ballet & QPAC. The Winter’s Tale
  • The Royal Ballet & QPAC. WoolfWorks

Best Dance Production

  • Expressions Dance Company, Opera Queensland and QPAC Mozart Airborne

Best Original Score

  • Max Richter. Woolf Works. Producer/Presenters: The Royal Ballet & QPAC
  • Sam Cromack. Laser Beak Man. Producer/Presenters: Brisbane Festival, La Boite Theatre Company and Dead Puppet Society in association with PowerArts.

Best Scenic Design

  • David Morton, Jonathon Oxlade and Justin Harrison. Laser Beak Man. Producer/Presenters: Brisbane Festival, La Boite Theatre Company and Dead Puppet Society in association with PowerArts.

Best Play
